The Motorcycle Diaries

This week was cinema-time. At last!
We were watching the movie The Motorcycle Diaries - which is based on the diary of Ernesto "Che" Guevara.
The story is about the young (23 year old) Ernesto Guevara and his best friend Alberto Granado. The two young men are going to discover the South American mainland by motorcycle, feet and ramshackle trucks. They are looking for their greatest adventure but mostly discovering woe and repression and the inhabitants of the different countries.

poster_che.jpg The movie is a quiet, pleasing film which profits from its wonderful landscapes - the endlessness of South America is really impressing. A story full of poverty, tradition and pride, temper, soulfullness and injustice - but only for people who like quiet, sad stories with a grateful slowness.

I'm unterstanding how these experiences influenced the evolution of the revolutionist Che Guevara - his wish to help the Latin-Americans, but violence is never the solution to problems ...

My rating: 8/10 Motorcyle Spare-Parts
