It's not a blog, it's a feature

I have an affectation for dystopian novels: It is fascinating how many details you can find from such classical books like 1984 or Brave New World in the world today. And it is shocking too ...
The movie Children of Men works on the same aspect - how the future of our beautiful planet could be. And the story is really oppressive - if you watch the news many things work nowadays similar as in the story of the film (like the treating of refugees).
So lets work together to prevent this dystopia to happen and if it's with small details. But first go and see the movie :)

By the way: This is my one hundreds entry in this weblog and should be celebrated - so what is about a comment? ;)

Firefox is the best web-browser (or better - it is the only one practicable to use) and I love it when the best browser just becomes better by a nice add-on.

Sitting in front of the PC without listening to music is very hard for me. So Winamp is running all the time in the background. And now I have the possibility to control my music addiction ;) out of my web-browser with the add-on FoxyTunes

FoxyTunes at the bottom of Firefox.

With FoxyTunes you can specify the media player you want to control and also get some nice extra features like lyrics, videos and pictures to the mp3 you are already listening to.

Yeah - the summer is here and except the heat there are long evenings to extend leisure activities.

Two highlights of mine were:
- Cinema Time: The new film of Julie Delpy 2 days in Paris is a very funny comedy of an American and French couple on a holiday in Paris at the parents of the French girl. The clash of cultures and differences of the lovers make you laugh the whole movie long. The best side effect is - you can look with a wink on your own relationship. By the way: Go and see the original!

- Concert Time:
The Rockhouse in Salzburg is a great location and Bauchklang is a superb Austrian Band. Mixed together resulted in a terrific evening.

There new CD is worth listening but when you can see them live go there and be fascinated by the kind of music the produce just with there voices!

Parteien die streiten anstatt zu arbeiten
Falls es wer noch nicht bemerkt hat, wir haben seit fast einem halben Jahr eine neue Regierung ... würde mich nicht wundern wenn es noch nicht aufgefallen ist, denn geändert hat sich dadurch für die Bürger in unserem Staat nichts:
Die Studenten zahlen weiterhin Studiengebühren, das Asylgesetz ist fremdenfeindlicher denn je, eine Bildungsreform gibt es (noch immer) nicht und SPÖ und ÖVP streiten bis die Fetzen fliegen (obwohl sie jetzt ja Koalitionspartner anstatt Oppositions- und Regierungspartei sind).

Wenn man da eine gewisse Politikverdrossenheit spürt ist es nicht wirklich verwunderlich - wer trotzdem wiedermal Spass an der Politik haben will dem kann ich nur das neue Programm des Rabenhoftheaters Beim Gusenbauer empfehlen.

Man kann es ja als befriedigende Rache an der herrschenden Politikerzunft sehen, das steigert dann den Unterhaltungswert noch um eine Stufe ;)
