It's not a blog, it's a feature

Yesterday it was ice-hockey and men time. My brother Jakob, my father and I were attending the Austrian Hockey League game between The Red Bulls Salzburg and the VSV.

It was my first ice-hockey game and it was terrific:

We had great seats and the game was thrilling. In the first period of the game Villach takes the lead with two very fast goals, but in the second part of the game Salzburg was fighting back and equalizing the game with 2:2 - but managed to maintain a Short-handed Goal. So in the third period our team had to even out the game once again - what really happenend and with strong offensive play they took the lead for the first time 4:3. At the end of the game VSV was hazarding by taking the goalkeeper out for one player more and the unbelievable happenend - 20 seconds before the end the puck flounced in the net - OVERTIME. In the two minutes of the overtime there were chances on both sides but the VSV had the better end and they won the game with 5:4.

I was loving it and I'm hoping to be able to watch an ice hockey game again soon - but now with the better end for our team.

Last weekend (05.02.2005) at the PCCP Clubhouse a chess tournament took place ... AND I WON!

It was a great experience to play against many different people with different skills and I had to fight really tough to win this title.
First game against SQL Peter I was loosing my knight really soon and my rook too, but I managed to win after breaking in his backdoor.
Second game against my girlfriend Elisabeth was very hard, I knew that she plays well but she made a few mistakes and so I was able to win this game too.
I won my next two games, against Bertl and Alfi, and so I had to play in the quarterfinals against Wolfi - he played concentrated but I was the better player - next win and now against my litte brother Jakob.
This was my hardest game, he played great and without a mistake I was one bishop short - but after a long game my pawns made the difference for my win.
So I played the final against Max and I was controlling this game from the beginning not giving him a chance to play with his queen and managed to win the tournament.

The final Checkmatt

You know the situation: your girlfriend wants to watch a sitcom and you want to listen to your new CD! To bad that the TV and stereo tower is in the same room and your headphone has a short cable and bad sound.
So I bought a radio transmission headphone from Sennheiser - the sound is great and there is no cable. Much better: You can even listen to music in your bedroom and also when sitting on the toilet :)

Take a closer look at the technical details of my "baby" Sennheiser RS140 - I really enjoy it and there is one "problem" few.

I'm sure you know that the Foo Fighters is one of the greatest rock bands. You know it, me 2 ... but I did not know one of their greatest videos until yesterday.
The video is called Low and you MUST watch it - it is really worth seeing. Take a look how much fun Dave Grohl and Jack Black have when making this video:

Yeah - the summer is here and except the heat there are long evenings to extend leisure activities.

Two highlights of mine were:
- Cinema Time: The new film of Julie Delpy 2 days in Paris is a very funny comedy of an American and French couple on a holiday in Paris at the parents of the French girl. The clash of cultures and differences of the lovers make you laugh the whole movie long. The best side effect is - you can look with a wink on your own relationship. By the way: Go and see the original!

- Concert Time:
The Rockhouse in Salzburg is a great location and Bauchklang is a superb Austrian Band. Mixed together resulted in a terrific evening.

There new CD is worth listening but when you can see them live go there and be fascinated by the kind of music the produce just with there voices!

We just bought a new macro lens for our Canon Powershot G3, to support one of our hobbies - macro photography. So we waited for a bright, sunny day and went out armed with the camera, the new lens, tripod, remote control and much time.
